The Elizabeth Taylor Auction at Christie’s New York sold off the famous starlet’s entire collection of jewelry, and Kim Kardashian made an impressive bid, paying a $64,900 for bangles once owned by the movie icon. The Lorraine Schwartz-designed three jade and diamond bracelets were originally estimated to sell for $8,000.

Elizabeth Taylor was an idol of mine, and I’m honored to now own something from her collection, she told Us Weekly of her hefty purchase. The Lorraine Schwartz jade bracelets are special because jade transfers energy, so I will cherish these bracelets with her energy in them for the rest of my life!
In February, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, interviewed Liz for Harpers Bazzar magazine where she described herself as an Elizabeth Taylor nerd. Kardashian idolized the Hollywood star and wanted to be sure to have a piece or two or her infamous history.
Kim is not in possession of the jewelry yet, but she’s expected to get ’em sometime in the next few days.
