Sunday night’s Grammy Awards was really glittering, in a real sense of that word. The beautiful Staples Center in Los Angeles literally glowed when Carrie Underwood stepped out for the night with more than $31 million necklace. The 29-year-old Grammy nominated country singer paired the diamond necklace with a Roberto Cavalli black mermaid gown, with an embroidered lace bustier embellished with baroque swirls.

The $31 million diamond necklace by jewellers Johnathon Arndt became the most expensive jewelry to be worn at the Grammy Awards till date. It features 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise, and round brilliant white diamonds. Speaking on the red carpet about the $31 million necklace, Underwood stated: “It’s heavy on my soul. I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it … It’s worth more than me.” The American Idol winner called the necklace, “381 carats of gorgeousness.”
For Underwood, never enough gloss. Later in the show, as she performed “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs” the famous singer rocked an ivory Theia dress with LED lights underneath displaying visual effects – a beautiful images of flowers and dazzling shapes. “On my last tour, we did an LED dress and that’s where the idea sparked,” she told the Boot backstage at the awards. “We wanted it to be artful and dramatic.”
The brightest star of the night at the 55th Grammy Awards won the “Best Country Solo Performance” and “Best Country Song”.
