Penthouse at The Plaza Hotel Formerly purchased for $25.9 million last year, this penthouse at the famed Plaza hotel is now selling for $59 million by the real estate mogul Brown Harris Stevens. After some massive upgrades, Christian and his brother Nick Candy creating high-design luxury residences. The Plaza triplex penthouse boasts 6,319 square feet of interior of living space and 229 square feet of exterior living space spread over the 19, 20 and 21 floors. On the 19 floor there is an elevator that services all 3 floors, 3 bedroom suites and a laundry room. The 20 floor features a grand living room, 14-seat dining room and a gourmet kitchen that boasts 21 foot ceilings and a skylight. The 21 floor has the sumptuous master suite with private terrace. If the penthouse sells at its asking price, it would set a record. So far the highest purchase to date in the Plaza is $6,316 per square foot, or $48 million, paid for two adjacent condos by Igor Krutoy, a Russian composer and music producer, in 2011.
