Even with reduced price, Michael Jordan has been unable to sell his Highland Park Estate, so he decided to put it on auction. Stunning 56,000 sq ft mansion north of Chicago goes under the hammer during live auction on November 22nd, conducted by Concierge Auctions in cooperation with Baird & Warner Real Estate. There is no minimum reserve but a $250,000 deposit will be required to bid. It also includes a guest wing with three en suite bedrooms and a separate entrance. Some of the other luxury amenities are: a billiard parlor, 5 fireplaces, library, a full wet bar, 15 heated garage spaces, 500+ bottle wine cellar, home theater, card room, cigar room with walk-in humidor, pool pavilion and outdoor kitchen with separate entrance, state-of-the-art fitness center, tennis court, putting green, a full-service beauty salon and the original doors from the Playboy Mansion in Chicago. Michael Jordan’s 56,000 square foot estate heading to auction Jordan wrote in an e-mail to the Wall Street Journal this week that he is auctioning the home because “my kids are grown now and I don’t need a large house in Chicago.” He added that he sees the auction as the start of a trend for selling similarly high-profile properties.
