A prototype convertible versions of the 911 from 1964 will be offered for sale at an auction to be held on 8 February in Paris. It is expected that this car could reach a price of one million euros. Porsche now offers several convertible version, as well as the Targa version of its legendary 911 model, but this car was initially available with an open roof.
The first convertible was prototype labeled 911, and the only one of other surviving copies is exactly the car shown in the photographs.

During the development in the period 1963-1964, made a total of 13 prototypes with factory label 901, and survived only two – one in the coupe and this unique convertible which will appear on the February auction.
Otherwise, cabrio prototype paved the way to the first Porsche 911 Targa, 1967, and then to the classic convertible that was introduced in 1982.
Due to its exclusivity, but also historical importance for the Porsche brand, it is expected that the car will fetch between 850,000 and 1,000,000 euros.
