Another estate that is related with Old Snowmass, Colorado, has been put up for sale. Yesterday, we reported about selling the $25,000,000 Meanwhile Ranch, but this one Old Snowmass estate is being sold for the triple bigger price. With the listed price of $75,000,000, Old Snowmass property is the most expensive listing on the market in Colorado and one of the most costly in the nation, and thus threatens to break the previous record, held by Hala Ranch which was sold by the Saudi Prince Bandar in June for $49 million.
Located on Watson Divide, the estate that has wood fencing running all the way from above the High Way 82 to Snowmass Creek, spreads over 876 acres. Completed in 2007, the property includes 8,500 sq ft of living space with six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, as well as 15 miles of hiking trails, a labyrinth and three large swimming ponds, including one with a private beach club. Inside the main home is a movie theatre with onyx columns and a stage, as well as a spa with treatment rooms and an oxygen bar. There’s also a videogame room and an outdoor kitchen with a brick pizza oven. The home has an indoor-outdoor pool with a light-up painting of the constellations on the ceiling.
Patti Wheeler, an author of children’s book series (she has written “Travels with Gannon and Wyatt”) and her husband Tom, an entrepreneur are currently owners of the property. They decided to sell the house, because their twin sons are leaving for college soon and they are looking to relocate and downsize.
“I’m going to miss it,” says Ms. Wheeler. “The house is a collection of 30 years of travel for me.”
This gorgeous 876-acres Old Snowmass estate, Colorado has been listed for sale by Joshua Saslove of Joshua & Co., an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate.
