Alfa Romeo 4C Ready For Geneva Motor Show

Two years after the concept car, the new production model Alfa Romeo 4C will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Announced, then postponed, Alfa 4C is finally ready for mass production. The transition from the concept version has gone pretty painless as far as car design. The changes are minimal and are confined to the details, such as the shape of mirrors or light graphics group. Although in Alfa like to keep the specifications as a surprise to the fair, the company has received confirmation that the car retained the compact dimensions of the concept.

New sporty two-seater will be just over 13 feet long, 6.5 feet wide, and under 4 feet high. The body and chassis of Alfa Romeo 4C are made from a combination of two light materials, aluminum and carbon fiber, allowing the car’s excellent value for mass and strength, which is less than 4 kg / HP. Powertrain details are still sketchy, but they confirmed that the Alfa 4C will be equipped with a 1.75-liter turbo four cylinder filled like the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde model. The engine has a new aluminum block, specially designed intake, exhaust manifolds, and direct injection.

As was the case in the version of the concept car, the power will be transferred to the rear wheels by TCT transmission. The 4C will have distinctive DNA controls, but in addition to the existing three modes (D – dynamic, n – normal and A – for specific road conditions, such as rain or snow), he will get the fourth Race mode. As the name suggests, this is a regime that will improve the management features of the car on the race track.
