Bang & Olufsen Playmaker Stream Your Digital Music from Any Device

Streaming digital music to a pair of high-end loudspeakers in the simplest way is now possible thanks to this new Bang & Olufsen‘s Playmaker device. With the receiver hooked up, your AirPlay and DLNA devices will be able to stream audio to pretty much any of the company’s speaker offerings. That means it can stream music directly from your smartphone, tablet, Mac, PC, or media server.

Setting up the receiver appears to be quite easy. All users have to do is simply push a button on the bottom of the Playmaker for it to connect to a wireless router.

Wireless audio bridging isn’t anything new by itself , but the company is promising clean and powerful sound through a built-in DAC that can drive Bang & Olufsen’s extensive range of premium active speakers. The device supports various music zones as well to allow different music to be sent to different rooms in the home with multiple Playmaker receivers.

The Bang & Olufsen Playmaker is expected to arrive in stores by the end of the month and will retail for $425. If you’ve got more cash to spare, Bang & Olufsen is offering the Playmaker that comes packaged with BeoLab 3 speakers which will set you back a whopping $4,310 for the whole setup.
