Multi-award-winning independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) release a 52 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the sadly now-closed Carsebridge distillery (RRP £231.95). The label, meanwhile, features Tris Stephenson and Tom Aske (the folk behind the excellent Worship Street Whistling Shop) in their new whisky bar Black Rock. The place is all about “demystifying” whisky and removing any “older gentleman” stigma around it. They sat at the bar’s extraordinary 18 foot long European oak tree trunk table, complete with two 17 litre channels for ageing whiskies and cocktails as well as taps for serving them!
A statement from TBWC reads: “Their mission is to demystify whisky and make it simple and fun for all, something which is also fundamental to everything TBWC do.”
What’s more, there’s a voucher on the back label for a super-special-secret off-menu cocktail at BlackRock too.
