Bugatti Type 55 Ready For Auction, With Expected Price Of £3.5 Million

One of only 29 copies of Bugatti Type 55 will be auctioned in February next year at the Bonhams Auction in Paris, and is expected that the new owner will have to pay £3,500,000 (€ 3,958,740) for it.
The car participated in Le Mans in 1932 and behind its wheel was Louis Chiron, the driver whose name today bears the modern Bugatti Chiron.

This Bugatti Type 55 ended up in the UK in 1962, owned by Geoffrey St John, after which it went through the restoration process twice (1966 and 1996).
The car is powered by a 2.3 liter engine, from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) accelerates in 13 seconds and up to a maximum of 185 km/h.
