Madonna’s Material Girl Collection

Macy’s announced that the new Material Girl Collection, designed by Madonna in collaboration with her daughter Lourdes known as Lola, launches on Tuesday, Aug. 3, exclusively in 200 Macy’s stores across the country and on macys.com. Lourdes, who has worked in the wardrobe department on two of her mother’s tours, is developing a unique personal style, influenced, of course, by her mother. From Desperately Seeking Susan-inspired fingerless gloves to chains and crosses that could be straight out of Like a Virgin. To kick off the campaign, Madonna has gone with Gossip Girl star and singer Taylor Momsen.

To celebrate the launch of Material Girl on Aug. 3rd, Taylor Momsen will make a special appearance at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City from 5 to 7 p.m. Lucky consumers and fans will be able to watch Momsen in a live acoustic performance in the juniors department on the 4th floor followed by a photo opportunity with a $50 Material Girl purchase. The first 200 customers to line up at six Macy’s locations will receive a free bandeau top from the Material Girl collection and a $10 Macy’s gift card to shop the collection that day

Bvlgari Eyewear Collection 2010

Bvlgari outs its 2010 Eyewear collection, giving fashionistas and stylists a new range of fashionable and designer eyewear. The new collection draws its inspiration from the brand’s prominent jewelry-making tradition. Particular highlights include the coloured, glass stones featured for the first time on acetate frames which are available in a range of colours including classic black, tobacco, violet and light blue.

Among the collection is a signature piece that pays tribute to the cabochon cut, a technique of cutting precious stones. The 2010 special edition line features a serpent motif, which is reminiscent of the high jewelry necklace worn by Kate Moss in the Jasmin Noir fragrance campaign. The new Monologo line of eyewear is a tribute to the 2008 Monologo collection that had the Bvlgari logo as the only ornamental element.

Born in 2001, the Lucea collection continues to be characterised by linear designs and this year it’s available in silvered metal or gunmetal and fawn frames – with black, red, mother of pearl of cocoa acetate stems. The B.zero1 line harks back to the eponymous ring collection launched in the late 90s which combined the motifs of Tubogas and the brand logo.

Last but not least, they have a range of designer optical frames for men. The painstaking attention to detail given for the new eyewear collection, combined with elegant design, speaks of Bvlgari’s distinctive creativity that surpasses the passing trends.

The three new models – 1627/S, 1622/S and 3108/S have old-school Gucci charm and feature the vintage red and green Gucci stripe and ‘G’ logo on both temples and complete the theme with a special edition leather case and carrying pouch.
