TAG Meridiist Python Gold Dust

The TAG Heuer Meridiist line of luxury phones function as a status symbol to their luxury loving owners. With their sleek designs and envious bodies that are wrapped in various high end materials the Meridiist phones attract the luxury lovers. Almost every TAG Heuer Meridiist phone we come across looks the same, and the latest three models of the luxury phone are no exception. They share the same features and overall design, and the only thing that sets the difference is the finishes.

The TAG Heuer Meridiist Black Diamond for instance is PVD-coated and is made out of 316L stainless steel. Fitting perfectly in the high-end Meridiist phones, the Black Diamond is embellished in 18-carat pink gold, lizard leather, and 1.34-carat diamonds.

The TAG Heuer Meridiist Stainless steel & Rose Gold is also dressed in 18-carat pink gold, stainless steel and alligator leather, but it doesn’t have diamonds. Finally, there is the TAG Meridiist Python Gold Dust that sparkles with 1.3-carat diamonds that are mixed with gold, East African green garnet and python leather. If you get past the looks and move towards the features of these new models you will notice they are the same like the other Meridiist models. Offering no surprise in the tech specs, the new models boast of 1.9 inch QVGA sapphire crystal displays, secondary OLED displays at the top, 2MP cameras and 2GB of internal memory.

In a move that has shocked absolutely no one, Microsoft has announced that they will offer a Limited Edition Halo:Reach Xbox 360 Bundle available September 14, the same day as the game’s launch. The bundle contains a silver 250 GB Xbox 360 S, which not only captures the look and feel of the game, but also features custom sound effects from the Halo universe. It also comes with two silver wireless controllers featuring Reach artwork, a similarly decorated headset, a Standard Edition copy of the Halo: Reach, a voucher for ‘Limited Edition Elite’ armor and an episode from the Halo Legends anime anthology.

The guts of the special edition console are the same as all other new Xboxes, with the built-in wi-fi and 250GB HDD. So basically you’re paying for the extra controller, game and special paint job. Still, it’s a pretty good deal considering the fact that the new Xbox normally retails for $300 and this new bundle will come in at $399. It’s about $20 cheaper than if you buy everything separately.

In addition, standalone Halo: Reach themed controllers and headsets will go on sale in late August, for $59.99 and $49.99 respectively.

When the iPad first came out back in April, the main question on the minds of consumers and critics was what, exactly, the thing was for. It could do most of the stuff a laptop could do, but not as well (no keyboard, multitasking, Adobe Flash). It could do everything a smartphone could do, except make calls. Finally, the posh South Gate restaurant has figured out a real use for this hot tech gizmo: Custom Designed iPad Wine Lists.

Assuming that their wine-drinking customers are tech savvy, the restaurant has listed more than 650 bottles on their wine tablets. These iPads will dole out detailed information about the major wine regions and varietals at the touch of the button. Also it is programmed to automatically update the wine list as labels sell out.

The iPads will be available for diners to use, but if you’re like my dad, you can always have the sommelier handle your wine queries.

South Gate restaurant, with its iPad wine lists is located at 154 Central Park South in the Jumeirah Essex House, and offers modern American cuisine. The restaurant was designed by Tony Chi and features the cuisine of executive chef Kerry Heffernan.

British Airways Mobile Applications Allowing Passengers to Check-in with a Smart Phone

On this morning’s London Heathrow to Edinburgh flight, BA customers were able to checkin using their iPhones for the first time. Although checkin via the mobile site, ba2go.com, has been available for at least two years, the app allows travellers to generate a QR code boarding pass and proceed straight to the gate, subject to the usual baggage and security procedures.

The app will be available first on flights from Edinburgh, Scotland to Heathrow but plans are in place to expand the use of the app to cover all domestic flights by the end of August before expanding its use to short- and eventually long-haul flights. The application, which will be available through the Apple store, is a redesign of the original, rather basic BA app which debuted with the UK launch of the iPhone.

This latest application will first be available to download to iPhones before being launched on the Blackberry and Android platforms at a later date. Chris Davies, head of digital marketing, said: Mobility and convenience is key for our customers, so that no matter where they are, they can turn to their mobile phones to find the very latest information about flights, check in times and even access boarding passes allowing them to stay one step ahead.

In fact, a traditional counter costs the airline about three times as much as Web or mobile check-in.

At the recent 2010 Mac User Conference held by Nonprofit Mac community Union at the Trading convention center in Seoul, Nam who is member of the union displayed his Swarovski encrusted MacBook. The crystal studded MacBook was Nam’s entry for the Mac Accessories Contest.

The convention, as usual, had attracted the best and the most creative talent. The designs and creations were of the highest quality. But Nam’s Mac Book stole the show. It definitely left one and all present at the conference bedazzled.
