British Airways has partnered with CitationAir, the private jet charter subsidiary of Cessna Aircraft, to launch a private jet service called PrivateConnect within North America and the Caribbean. An online registration and dedicated phone number allows BA passengers to ‘pay and go’ with a credit card – avoiding the upfront fees and long-term commitment normally associated with private jet hire.

The cost ranges from $6,000 to $10,000 per plane per hour depending on the type of aircraft and will be available to anyone who has has flown with the carrier in the past 12 months or is a member of the BA executive club program as well as organizations that have a corporate account with British Airways. BA currently flies to 19 destinations in America and has a tie-up with American Airlines for US domestic flights.

A Mumbai developer is about to start construction on what he claims will be the world’s tallest residential tower. If you are super rich, you can see what such lofty living feels like. Mumbai builder Lodha Developers Ltd. said it will finish the over 117 storey stack of private homes called World One in 2014. Over 1,470 feet tall, the tower will reportedly cost around $450 million to build and units are already being sold at prices from around $1.5 million all the way up to more than $12 million.

At more than 450 meters, it will be taller than the Empire State Building in New York or the Willis Tower, known until quite recently as the Sears Tower, in Chicago. It is also scheduled to beat the record for tallest residential tower which is currently held by the 323-meter residential complex in Australia called “Q1″. The oval shaped building, designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Leslie E. Robertson Associates, provides a balcony for each unit. The units on the higher floors don’t only have better views but they will have less street noise and cooler balconies.

Seabourn Sojourn Yacht Offering Two-for-one Cruise Fares

T.Mariotti shipyard, a leader in the field of ultra luxury shipbuilding, has delivered the new vessel Seabourn Sojourn to Seabourn Cruise Line. It is the second of three sister-ships ordered for €550 million by Seabourn, the luxury brand of Miami-based Carnival Corporation & PLC. The new vessel, twin to Seabourn Odyssey delivered in 2009, is an example of excellence in small and medium-size shipbuilding, at 32000 GRT. Sojourn is 650ft long, 84ft wide and reaches a maximum speed of over 20 knots.

The 225-suite yacht puts a premium on personalized service and has a nearly one-to-one staff/guest ratio. Most of the ocean-view suites have private verandas. Those ambitious Turks in Istanbul must be planning to sell a lot of cars. They’re building the gigantic Autopia Europia auto mall, the biggest in the world, giving you a full race track on top to test cars before you drive one home.

Under construction now, the five-story, 708,661-square-foot building will have room for 2,426 models from over 400 brands. As you can expect, its designers don’t envision Autopia Europia as a car dealership, but rather a car mall featuring 200 individual showrooms, 48 service stations, 42 insurance companies and 24 banks.
