Chivas 18, many time rewarded ultra-premium Scotch whisky continues to keep its position as world’s No.1 by launching Chivas 18 by Pininfarina, a trio of two limited edition Whiskey Gift Collection. The ultra-premium whisky blend brand, Chivas Regal has teamed up with Italian car design firm, Pininfarina to create three unique gift cases, each of which contains a bottle of Chivas 18 and captures Pininfarina’s design cues on the metallised crest, while its logo is emblazoned on the capsule and neck wrap.
The first limited edition expression which retails for £90 ($145) has the subtle and simple shape, based on a droplet, that is innate in Pininfarina’s designs. A metallic finish, representative of Pininfarina’s metalwork legacy, encase a wooden veneer, which symbolize the oak barrels used to age the precious limited edition Chivas 18 placed in it.
The second edition of whiskey gift collection, which retrail at £360 ($582) has the same design cues of the first, but as a larger drop shaped case and solid wood inlay. This limited edition bottle also includes two glasses which echo the drop design which is inspired by air and liquid, and is individually numbered to highlight its exclusivity.
The third edition, a masterpiece is inspired by the original wood work frame that was actually used to refine new automobile shapes ‘Mascherone’. To commemorate the partnership, Chivas Brothers has commissioned five these sculptures, clad in aluminium, which will be put on display globally and are available to order on request. Chivas 18 by Pininfarina will be available globally, including USA, UK, Russia, China and Travel Retail from January 2013.
