Famous Villa Contenta Featured in True Blood on Sale for $23.8 Million

Luxury Malibu estate, dubbed La Villa Contenta that has starred in HBO’s “True Blood” vampire series, has been listed on sale for $23.8 million. The seller, Richard Weintraub, president of Weintraub Real Estate Group, has divided the property into two parcels. The smaller 1.52 acre parcel with the 12,000-square-foot main house is one that been listed for $23,8 million, but if you want to buy the entire 8-acre parcel, it’ll cost a cool $54 million. In 2010, the price was more irrational – $75 million for the whole property, or $35 million for the parcel with the house.

La Villa Contenta’s living space contains seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms and comes with a guest house, tennis court, theater, two maid’s quarters, 25-meter infinity pool, loggias, expansive decks, gourmet kitchen and landscaping. The three-story lavish home overlooking the Pacific Ocean also boasts a limestone entryway, a hand-laid pietra dura mosaic, and a museum-quality carved mirror by Thomas Chippendale, which reflects a 2,500-year-old lion’s head sculpture, found at the base of Mount Vesuvius.

RealEstalker describes the Hearst-esque natatorium as “a palatial Greek Revival style natatorium/pool house with marble pilasters, walls encrusted with more than 500,000 seashells, six glittery crystal chandeliers, and a glass ceiling.” The estate also has one of the largest private greenhouses in California; it accommodates several thousand orchids.

La Villa Contenta aka Queen Sophie’s mansion in “True Blood”, beside this role, has also starred in several television shows and films, including “Funny People” and “I Love You Man.”

Chris Cortazzo of ColdwellBanker has the listing.
