Gold-Plated Mercedes That Belonged To Muhammad Ali At Auction

Mercedes Benz that belonged to the boxing legend Muhammad Ali should reach a price of $1.5 million next month at auction. In addition, that the car was driven by the greatest boxer of all time, the ”golden angel wing” is special because its body and the parts of the interior are covered with 23 – carat gold and decorated with more than 270 gems of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. The interior of the vehicle, in which dominated the prominent Arabic symbols, is covered with real mink fur.

According to the auction catalog, this Mercedes car is manufactured in the early 1980’s as a copy of the Mercedes 220S from 1959 for a member of a “prominent royal family”. As a huge boxing fan and admirer of Muhammad Ali, an unnamed monarch has decided to gifts the car to a triple champion. The current owner of the Mercedes, who wished to remain anonymous, said that all the money from the sale will donate to charity.
