Montblanc’s “Le Petit Prince” Collection

Montblanc Le Petit Prince

It’s the 75th anniversary of “Le Petit Prince” and one can expect many brands to honor the magical novella and its acclaimed author (and aviator) Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. None will come as close to the majesty as Montblanc, who’ve actually already been crafting Saint-Exupéry pieces for some time. With their just-released Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Collection, however, they’ve crafted an inspired series of writing instruments and luxury accessories. There’s a noticeable majesty to each item, the pens in particular.
Inspired by the authors illustrations in the book, especially of the night sky, the collection includes four designs all featuring a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint.

Each of the pens are crafted from navy blue precious resin a colour chosen by Montblanc to represent the universe that is all around the little prince. There is the Classique and LeGrand size in the all over resin design, the Solitaire Doué design embraces a platinum-plated crafted cap and the Solitaire has the fox face pattern engraved all over the barrel and cap which evokes a character from the story that instructs the young prince about the bonds of human relationships. This fox face pattern is engraved onto the caps of the other three designs.
Each of the pens have a platinum-plated clip adorned with a tiny yellow star inlaid in it which is a reminder of laughter in the stars. The star symbol for the collection represents a passage from the story where before travelling back to his asteroid the little prince tells the pilot he will be able to hear his laugh any time simply by looking at the stars and remembering.

Around the crown of each pen in the collection is a sentence from the original novel has been laser engraved into the crown which says “Tu seras pour moi unique au monde” which translates as “To establish ties, to me, you will be unique in all the world. The fountain pens in the collection have a delicate character of Le Petit Prince along with his friend the fox engraved into the nib.
As before Montblanc also released refills and a notebook as well as cufflinks and a bracelet for men.
