Except redesigned model ML, which arriving in 2015 under the new name GLE, Mercedes has prepared GLE Coupe version of its model. New Mercedes GLE Coupe is based on the Mercedes GLE platform, and according to earlier announcements it will be produced in Mercedes factory in the United States. The official premiere of the Mercedes GLE Coupe will be held next month at the Detroit Auto Show, and sales will start in the second half of 2015.
Price is not known, but is expected to GLE Coupe with 3.0-liter diesel engine and 258Hp in Germany cost about 63,000 euros($78,000). At the beginning will be available version of GLE 400 Coupe with 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo petrol engine with 333Hp and 480 Nm, GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupe with 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 engine with 367Hp and 520 Nm, and GLE Coupe 350d with a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine and 258Hp and 620 Nm. All the engines are mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, and drive is the 4Matic all-wheel.
It should be noted that the GLE Coupe is also equipped with Active Curve System, DISTRONIC PLUS, PRE-SAFE Brake with pedestrian detection, BAS PLUS and Cross-Traffic Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and PRE-SAFE PLUS, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC-TV, LED Intelligent Light System and COMAND infotainment system with 8-inch TFT screen.
Later will come, the AMG version, that should get the 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine with 525Hp and 700 Nm. Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupe will feature aggressive looks, AMG light-alloy wheels, sport tuned suspension, stronger brakes, red calipers, sport exhaust system with four tailpipes, and dressed up the interior.
