Pinarello has kept their legendary Prince name in circulation for well over a decade. The first-generation Prince was a Dedacciai SC61.10a aluminum bike. It was introduced just after Jan Ullrich won the ‘97 Tour de France (on a Pinarello), and it is best known for being the bike that spawned the aluminum-main-frame-mated-to-carbon-seatstays craze of the late 90’s.

The second-generation Prince was known as the Prince SL. Introduced in 2003, it pushed the alu/carbon hybridization to its absolute limit. Carbon was lighter, carbon was better at absorbing high-frequency vibration, carbon had a superior fatigue life. Pinarello helped lead the charge in 2005 with the introduction of their F4:13 carbon fiber frame, which they soon followed up with the Paris Carbon. Pinarello took the lessons they learned in developing these bikes and matched them up with recent developments in composites technology. The end result was a cost-is-no-object carbon thoroughbred so refined they couldn’t resist the temptation to give it their most beloved name: the Prince Carbon, the third-generation Prince they’ve designed to outstrip the greatness of the two generations that preceded it.

Moonen Shipyards have signed a contract for the Moonen 133, their biggest superyacht to date. Engineering on the 40m motor yacht has already begun for a repeat client, owner of a Moonen 84 and a Moonen 97.

The Moonen 133, which expected to be christened Sofia III, will have some unique differences compared to other superyachts her size. First, she will carry a submarine and will be the smallest yacht to do so. The two-person sub, from U-Boat Worx, will be stowed on the swim platform and launched via hydraulics; the platform will lower into the water, like a ramp. The Submarine will be able to dive up to 100m.

Harrods has always been at the forefront of supplying the world with luxurious items, but this crystal bathtub crafted by indulgent Italian company Baldi might just take the title of most extravagant. The unique Crystal Bathtub will be on display in the main window at Harrods, London for the entire month of July.

The admirable tub was previously showcased in Milan at I Saloni in April 2010. The tub is carved from a single enormous block of the purest white rock crystal quarried in the Amazon region of Brazil, and measures 2 meters in length and 55cm in height. The block was discovered in 2006, when Paolo Baldi heard of the existence of this ten-ton block of flawless crystal and had it extracted and transported to Italy intact.
