Cedar Spring, luxury property surrounded by magnificent hills of Possum Creek in the Byron Bay Hinterland, built by Australian actor Paul Hogan, is on the market again. Cedar Springs property in Australia was his last residential address. He sold after much marketing for $8.1 million in 2006 to Sydney socialites Duncan Mount and his wife Sally, which are the current owners.
This lavish mansion is located on the borders of Possum Creek and sits exactly on the bank of Wilson River. It has private driveway that stretches till 0.8 miles and is just 9.3 miles from Byron Bay. The property is considerably smaller than the 132ha it was in 2006. In that time, the Mounts had the property subdivided to less than half its size, with 44ha and 36ha subdivisions in the process of selling for about $2 million each.
The house is built in an Italian style under the supervision of diligent Italian artisans who lived on site for about one year to build this beautiful mansion. The 8-bedroom, 10 bathroom home includes a 150,000 litre heated swimming pool, guest cottage and river frontage. Apart from huge bedrooms, the house has a 16-seater dining room, all decked up in Italian style. The living room is made of warm wood aspects and the kitchen that is equipped with number of cabins is directly connected to the butler room. Besides a formal dining room, an informal dining room is also there in the mansion that opens towards the pool. The house has a gigantic balcony that shows a splendid view of the river.
At the time of its sale in 2006, Cedar Springs set a record as the highest-selling property in the Byron area. We’ll see whether it will be the same with this sale. [Unique Estates]
