Porsche Design presents its brand new Fall/Winter 2013 Fashion Collection called “The Urban Modernist”. The collection features geometric, rectangular volumes with an eye for minimalism and ergonomic high performance shapes. Graphic volumes play on maxi collars and maxi pockets play off of ideas of extreme volume and protection. These themes also mark an homage to the early 1980s as this period symbolized the idea of power and status symbol.
Although black is the dominant color for this season, when paired with warmer hues such as dark brown, Windsor wine and jester red, as as as cold, oily hues like Majoloca blue, the overall color palette is evocative of urban landscapes in mid-fall. High quality materials such as calf leather, wool, silk and gabardine ensure a pleasantly soft wearing experience and are in striking contrast to the straight-cut lines. Interesting juxtapositions of materials, such as felt with leather or smooth leather with suede, give the collection a distinctively modern, clear-cut look.
