Rare Amber Necklace with a Piece of Natural History in Every Stone up for Auction

What do you think about wearing mosquitoes, ants, and spiders on your neck? It might sound a bit creepy, but it’s not like that. Rare Amber ‘time capsule’ necklace stringed as a simple row of gems which actually contains these ancient bugs in each gem will be offered on sale later this month at Lawrences Fine Art Auctioneers in Crewkerne, Somerset.

This simple chain, made out 40 million year old gems, which originated from the La Toca mine in Dominican Republic which hides spiders, Gnats, beetles, bees, flying ants and etc. could fetch up to £10,000 ($15,400) when comes to auction on the April 23, 25 and 26.

This unusual necklace is owned by a private collector and a chart depicting exactly what can be seen in each of the pieces was produced by the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow.
