Real Housewife Jill Zarin Shows off her Elizabeth Taylor $19,000 Zohrab Ring

Kim Kardashian wasn’t the only reality star to bid on Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry. Former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin, famous for being unapologetically honest and also for being as dramatic as a 15-year-old, nabbed herself one of Elizabeth Taylor’s rings that Taylor herself wore and a 14kt gold Van Cleef and Arpels pill box with the inscription To Elizabeth With Love. Her husband Bobby ended up shelling out $19,000 for the light blue gemstone ring and another $8,000 for the pillbox, but Jill thinks it was worth every penny: I’m a huge fan of Elizabeth Taylor I always have been. I admired her because she was such a loyal friend and because she was the first A-list celebrity to say that HIV/AIDS is not a gay disease and came out to help so many people. Owning some of her pieces is really personal.

At STK in New York, Zarin showed off the oversized aquamarine ring and posed for plenty of photos with both the jewel and her husband, Bobby Zarin, who bought her the Zohrab Istanboulian-designed piece. She bought the ring to give to her daughter, Ally, one day, because its light-blue stone reminds her of her blue eyes. When I put the ring on, I wonder if it’s going to be a magical experience, knowing that Elizabeth Taylor wore it, she says. Zarin also believes Elizabeth Taylor designed it herself, since Zorab is a custom jeweler.

The star pored through the auction catalogs and attended the event on Dec. 15 in anticipation for her new line of jewelry, Jill Zarin Jewelry, which will include a tribute collection inspired by Elizabeth Taylor late next year. Her first limited-edition collection will be on sale exclusively at starting Feb 1. Prices range from $28-$150.
