Four Seasons Washington DC debuts first cigar and beverage pairing menu, appropriately called Sip & Smoke. It will be served at Bourbon Steak, since this is the city’s first restaurant with a Certified Tobacconist – Mason Foster.
While pursuing his certification through Tobacconist University of Princeton, New Jersey, Mason excelled in the area of beverage pairings with an in-depth understanding of how pH level and alkalinity impact taste. Going beyond the standard whiskey-and-cigar duo, the Sip & Smoke pairing menu showcases a carefully selected rotation of premium cigars with a range of unorthodox, complementary drinks intended to enhance the experience.
From craft cocktails to fine wines and spirits, his choices push the envelope of accepted standards – like his decision to pair a robust Avo Classic #9 with a fruity, tannic Ruinart Brut Rosé.
The menu will be unveiled the same day as the patio’s season opening with a special weeklong Sip & Smoke launch from Monday, March 27 to Friday, March 31, 2017. Throughout launch week, guests who order a cigar during the special “after dinner” hours of 8:00 to 10:00 pm will receive a complimentary one-ounce pour of Angel’s Envy bourbon to enjoy with their smoke.
