SSC Aero II Tuatara – Created to Break the Records

A car that has been created to break records. Remember the name Tuatara. According to the plans of its manufacturer, the company Shelby SuperCarsa North America, it will be the next most powerful and fastest production car in the world.

The SSC North America say they have finished testing the new twin-turbo V8 engine that will pwered this car, and that the Tuatara gets closer to mass production. It is a 6.9 liter unit that is capable of producing 1,007 kW/1.370 hp and a maximum torque of up to 1,733 Nm. Manufacturer says that this unit features a power increase up to over 1,700 hp.

Although a cursory look at the specifications suggest that it is a real wild beast on wheels, the company SSC stated that the car will be completely docile and suitable for everyday driving on public roads in all weather conditions. “At the same time, Tuatara is able to respond to the challenges of the runway as the Nürburgring and to break the record of the track,” says the founder of SSC, Jerod Shelby. He did not specify what could be the maximum speed of the car, but claims that the Tuatara is able to travel faster than 274mph.

Although many will ask what is the purpose of manufacture of such a model, the answer is the same as always – the reason for its existence lies in the willingness of the buyer to allocate the required amount of money, and how much the car will cost when it appears on the market, is not known.
