New Limited Edition Absolut Vodka Bottle Celebrates Andy Warhol

Pernod Ricard has unveiled a new limited edition Absolut Vodka bottle to celebrate its iconic collaboration with the illustrious Andy Warhol. Nearly 30 years after the celebrated artist created an original art piece for the brand (in 1986), the vodka maker plans to transform Warhol’s original artwork used in the campaign into a limited edition range of bottles. “With this limited edition, we raise our glasses to honor the partnership between
Absolut and Andy Warhol – a collaboration that resulted in one of the most iconic contemporary works of art,” said Nodjame Fouad, director of storytelling at Absolut. Absolut Originality – New Line of 4 Million Individually Designed Bottles

Following last year’s success of
Absolut Unique – exclusive line of 4 million bottles, each of them different from all the rest, the Swedish vodka brand, is gearing up to launch the same concept for this year. Absolut Originality is the new elegant limited collection which also features 4 million individually designed bottles, to truly celebrate the creativity and quality of the brand, while reaffirming the Absolut cobalt blue colour. The new design of the bottle is inspired by traditional Swedish glass crafts, where a drop of cobalt blue is infused into the glass, which is uncontrolled and therefore different each time. The cobalt is added just as the molten glass goes into the mould at 1100°C, when it is nvisible, but as the glass cools off, a beautiful and unique blue infusion appears inside the glass of each bottle and each time of 4 million in an original way. Absolut Originality “This limited edition celebrates the original thinking that has always been part of ABSOLUT’s heritage and pays tribute to the world’s most iconic vodka. The streak of cobalt forms a sophisticated contrast to the crystal clear glass and the blue colour makes each bottle unmistakably ABSOLUT,” said Adam Boita, Marketing Controller, Pernod Ricard UK. Absolut Unique – New Line of 4 Million Unique Designed Bottles

Absolut Vodka has created 4 million bottles, each of them is different from all the rest, as a part of their new line, dubbed Absolut Unique. The bottles will be individually numbered and distributed very soon, in 80 markets including the U.S., U.K., China, France and Germany. Price is expected to be £21.50 ($34.20).
Absolut previously had a custom to make their bottles to look exactly the same, so now they had to completely change production methods, to make sure that every bottle must be unique and different from the rest. The company managed to design a program with algorithms that splashes the bottles with colors that can’t be repeated, combining 38 bright colors and 51 abstract patterns, to create one-of-kind work of art. Adam Boita, marketing manager at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “Absolut Unique is an exciting project that presents the Absolut bottle in its most vibrant form to date. Consumers will be able find a design that they love, which then becomes a truly personalised gift – or the perfect addition to a party or collection.”
