Four Seasons Resort Bali – Opulent Exotic Getaway

It is impossible to express how Uday Rao (General Manager) and his team can wrap you into a personal and family like experience on this massive piece of verdant paradise. Your soul will never be the same. The Four Seasons Resort is more than an hour away from the frenzied environs of Denpasar Airport. As you drive past mile after mile of activity (motorbikes, stray dogs, roadside vendors) it is impossible to anticipate just how tranquil the resort setting will be. It stands out due to its sophisticated architecture, subtly integrated in a lush rainforest in the village of Sayan. The refuge is accessible via a wooden footbridge above a lush valley, offering guests an unusual welcome to a memorable place. Amazing views of Ayung River, working rice paddies and rich landscape beyond will completely satisfy the vacation. Wood is the defining element for the interior design, contributing to an overall atmosphere of warmth. When up for some relaxation time outdoors, you can jump in the two-level swimming pool, enjoy breakfast on the suspended terrace or explore the artistic capital of Ubud, as well as other tiny villages, Hindu temples and cultural attractions. A special program for children is available, keeping the young visitors entertained and creatively challenged. Enjoy the photos!

Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking Food has a new language, and its dictionary, Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking, has arrived in a $625 (on sale for $461.62) six-volume set of 2,438 pages. If you’re among the band of chefs, foodies, and casual eaters who think that the scientific approach to cooking is snobby, fussy, and unsatisfying, Ryan Matthew Smith’s arresting photographs from the book may give you pause. With the help of a 20-person kitchen team and two co-authors, Myhrvold lays out techniques and recipes from the new school of cooking, known to many of us as molecular gastronomy, and known in the book as modernist cooking. If you’re among the band of chefs, foodies, and casual eaters who think that the scientific approach to cooking is snobby, fussy, and unsatisfying, just take a look at pictures below.
