Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei’s name regularly appears when the phrase the world’s most is used. Whether it relates to his overall wealth, his palaces, or his investments, the Sultan never comes up short. As is the case with his car collection. He is the proud owner of the world’s most unique car collection. Total price of the collection containing 7,000 high performance cars is $5,000,000,000.

Where do you keep 7000 of the world’s rarest cars? Well, he doesn’t have a 7000 door garage, instead he stores most of them in five ultra-secret aircraft hangars,where specialist teams from the various manufacturers maintain it.

What exactly is hiding behind the garage-doors in the Sultan’s palace, nobody knows for sure. According to the Daily Mirror, as of June 30th 2010, the wealthy sultan is a proud owner of 604 Rolls Royces, 574 Mercedes-Benzes, 452 Ferraris, 382 Bentleys, 209 BMWs, 179 Jaguars, 134 Koenigseggs, 21 Lamborghinis, 11 Aston Martins, and 1 SSC, among others. To put this whole thing into perspective, 10 of those 11 Aston Martins are the super-rare One-77. In case the obvious isn’t obvious enough, there were only 77 of those supercars made.

Wait, it gets better: Koenigsegg puts out a limited 20 cars a year and Sultan of Brunei has 134 of them. If that’s not enough to tickle your fancy he also has an array of super-rare one-off cars that really makes his collection stand apart. These one-offs include two, rare, operational, Ferrari Mythos concepts, a modified Jaguar XJ220 designed by Pininfarina himself, a Bentley Java, and a Bentley Dominator 4×4. He is also the owner of the only Cicero BDB Maestro ever built. Other cars include the only right hand drive Mercedes CLK GTR, built just for him, the only Porsche Carma, and the only Koenigsegg Agera CC GT.

Around 3000 vehicles reside in the complex, all logged onto a central computer system based in the workshop administration center on the site. If not driven by immediate members of the family, then they are used by the ministers of state, government officials and members of the royal household.

Ferrari Store Opens in Manhattan’s Park Avenue, New York

With 37 locations all around the world, including four already in the U.S., it was only a matter of time until the first Ferrari Store in New York was going to open, and it now has. The Ferrari Store of New York officially opened its doors on June 24th, unveiling a retail space offering an array of branded apparel and lifestyle products.

The 200 square foot store sits smartly next to the Ferrari showroom. As expected the opening of the store was a gala event attended by the high profile Ferrari folks and customers. Also present were New York’s elite as well Hollywood celebrities. Relevant cars in Ferrari’s history such as the 1959 250 California and a 1984 GTO, together with the current range like the brand new 458 Italia, the Ferrari California, the 612 Scaglietti, and the special limited 599 GTO made for a unique display at this opening event.

Designed by Italian architecture and design firm Studio Iosa Ghini, the space is meant to evoke the speed of a Formula One car. A white glass front wall lures passersby with videos and graphic panels, allowing clear views to the entrancing interior. The Ferrari Store aims at becoming a strong attraction for the Ferrari brand as it pays homage to its 60-year history of racing and luxury. Visitors can discover a wide range of Ferrari products from lifestyle and collections dedicated to Formula 1 and GT enthusiasts, children and collectors. Miniatures and models from each era, a display case showcasing a crankshaft, valves and a piston, and the Cavallino collection of accessories and sportswear adorn the space.

This store is a must visit for every Ferrari fan.

Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition Android Phone Gets Ready to Zoom into Your Lives

At the on-going Computex 2010 convention, Acer has unveiled brand new Liquid E Ferrari Edition smartphone. The handset will reportedly boast of the same specs of the regular Liquid E: WVGA touch screen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 5MP camera and Snapdragon processor.

This Ferrari special edition phone is, of course, painted in bright red, and features a carbon fibre Ferrari seal on the phone’s back. It also comes preloaded with Ferrari wallpapers, and there will be a Ferrari-branded Bluetooth headset to buy to match the phone too.

No word on pricing or specific availability, but Acer say press samples will be out in July so we’re guessing retail won’t be long after that.If you are a diehard fan of Ferrari and want an Android phone, the Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition is certainly a great choice.

Rare Ferrari Racecars Exclusive for Sale on JamesList

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s famed Aero Toy Store has listed an impressive collection of Ferrari Racecars for sale on JamesList.

1991 Ferrari Formula 1 Scuderia

And the pick from the collection is a 1991 Formula 1 Scuderia that is priced at $700,000. One of the last turbo-charged Ferrari Formula One cars, powered by a 3.5-litre 60-valve 4 cam turbo-charged V12-engine, originally designed for the Maranello team by the former McLaren engineer John Barnard. Next up is a 2005 Ferrari 575M GTC/2220 Michelotto Competizione, also priced at $700,000. This model of Competition Ferrari was built primarily by N Technologies. However this particular example, Chassis No 20, was one of the few examples to be built by the most acclaimed Ferrari competition coach builder of all time, Michelotto, to participate in the FIA GT championship.

Two more Michelotto-built models follow: a 2008 Ferrari 430 GTC, at $700,000 as well, based on the F430 Challenge and designed for the FIA GT3 European Championship, but also used in other national GT championships; and a 2002 Ferrari 360 Michelotto Le Mans Race Car for $275,000, modified by Michelotto to N-GT specification for competition in the GT championship.

Last for sale is a 2000 Ferrari 360 Challenge Race Car that makes an excellent entry level acquisition for a Ferrari racer collection at just $150,000. It was a non-road legal variant of the Modena that shed 120 kg of weight by use of carbon fiber and stripping out of all of the road car’s luxuries such as leather interior coverings, electric windows and mirrors. The car boasted a fully stripped out racing interior with full integrated welded in roll cage and fire extinguisher. Lightweight BBS 18″ alloys, challenge rear grille and plexi-glass rear engine cover cosmetically distinguished the car from the standard 360.

All the cars feature unique racing livery having actually participated in championship competitions with the pedigrees to prove it.

The new Scuderia Ferrari One is clearly based on a design combination of the new Cabestan Nostromo and the existing Cabestan Winch Vertical Tourbillon. The design has of course been influenced by modern Ferrari design and technology. The middle bridge section is in carbon fiber, and I wouldn’t be surprised is the strap is made in materials used for seats and/or steering wheels.

Priced at €300,000, the Scuderia Ferrari One watch will be part of a limited edition of just 60 pieces – with about 20 pieces being made each year. That will be 30 pieces in black and red, and 30 pieces in black and yellow. Interestingly enough, the watch will not be sold through traditional retail outlets, but only through Ferrari. While the details aren’t 100% clear yet, it seems as though you have to be an existing Ferrari car owner to be a Scuderia Ferrari One by Cabestan watch owner. Plus, you’ll likely need to go through Ferrari in order to purchase the watches.

1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Cabriolet Has Been Auctioned for an Impressive $3.5 Million

A 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica was purchased at an RM Auction in Monaco for $3.5 million, the highest price ever paid for a Superamerica. The Superamerica is actually just one of only five ’short-wheelbase’ 400 cabriolets ever produced. The car, which has a diminutive 95-inch wheelbase, was originally purchased in Arizona in 1962. Its first owner brought the V12 convertible to the Bonneville Speed Trials.

The 400 SuperAmerica was powered by a 4.0-liter Gioachino designed V12 engine that delivered 340 hp at 7000 rpm. The engine was coupled to a 4-speed, all synchromesh gearbox, fitted with an electronic overdrive unit on top gear, driving through a universally jointed propeller shaft to a rigid rear axle. The 0 to 60 mph sprint was made in 9.2 seconds, while top speed went up to 174 mph.

The car has been restored in 2005 and a few tweaks here and there have made it unlike a factory model. This is one car to show off on a lovely Sunday drive through some flat country roads.

This is a perfect replica, 1:8 scale, of the F60, the fifty-fifth single-seater built by Ferrari specifically to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship 2009. The replica is crafted using chemical wood, acrylic, brass, silicone rubber, white metal. The paint job features several layers of lacquer and the assembling takes around 50 hours. The model reproduces the livery of the F60 number 3 driven by Felipe Massa.

Ferrari has officially taken the wraps off its new performance benchmark, the 599 GTO, ahead of the car’s official debut later this month at the Beijing Motor Show.

Output from the 6.0-liter V12 (derived from the Enzo’s engine itself) is up from 612 horsepower to 661, with torque up a modest 9 lb-ft to 457. A lightweight beauty, weighing just 1495 kg (3295 lbs), it can reach speeds of 62mph in just 3.35 seconds, and achieve a top speed in excess of 208 mph, while lapping the Fiorano test track in just 1 minute, 24 seconds, faster than the Enzo.

The Ferrari 599 GTO is also treated to more aerodynamic bodywork, including a new front splitter, side sills, diffuser and rear spoiler. The vented hood is new as well, as are the ten-spoke, 20-inch rims with F1-derived wheel donuts aiding aero efficiency.

Sort of a street-legal stepping point between the production 599 GTB Fiorano and the track-only 599XX, the 599 GTO evokes the famous Gran Turismo Omologato designation made famous by the legendary 250 GTO of the 1960s and the muscle-bound 288 GTO of the 1980s.

A limited edition offering from the famed automaker, only 599 examples of the Ferrari 599 GTO will be made. Anything but cheap, the car will reportedly flaunt a $460,000 price tag for the overseas market. The good news is Ferrari vehicle configurator, that lets you customize your 599 GTO to your heart’s content.

Ferrari GT Coaster Ride – One of 20 Amazing Ferrari Theme Park’s Rides and Attraction

In a few months time, the rich and famous of our world will have their own automotive ‘Disney Land’ with the opening of the new Ferrari World Theme Park in Abu Dhabi. Among the twenty or so rides and attractions featured at the park will be the GT Roller Coaster and this here is the first photograph of the car.

The GT roller coaster is one of 20 amazing rides and attraction at this amazing theme park. Every vehicle on this GT coaster ride is a replica of a Ferrari F430 Spider that can seat up to four people. According to Ferrari the GT coaster will send two competing roller coaster carriages dashing along twisting parallel tracks on a race to the finish line.

It is the second of two roller coasters that will anchor the amusement park. The other is billed as the world’s fastest roller coaster, with a speed of up to 125 mph and shooting passengers more than 62 m through the roof and back down again to offer them a G-force experience that is intended to simulate the feeling of driving a Ferrari F1 racing car.

Ferrari World Theme Park is being built on over 135 acres of land and is scheduled to open in the second half of the 2010 in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The Ferrari GT theme is not only carried on via the roller coaster, but also in the roof of the enclosed theme park. The roof is inspired by the “classic double-curve side profile” of the Ferrari GT.
