Via Lattea Children Furniture by Mario Bellini which Glows in the Dark

What do you think about furniture which glows in the dark? It’s like a magic in your child’s room. Created by Mario Bellini for Meritalia, the collection named Via Lattea is evolution in children furniture and includes the range of padded furniture, literally filled with transparent bubbles of pure air and sidereal light. These elegant and indestructible furniture items are made of lightweight stainless steel mesh of industrial filters and recycled fibres, used in construction (and also for the transportation of sugar, grains or stones) making them particularly lightweight so can be lifted easily.

”This is a project based on the pursuit of lightness and simplicity applied to the elastic balance between internal pressure and the dynamic loads of the body mediated by the form of the coverings. It is a project that goes against the general trend and is in constant evolution, based on the use of substances and materials that are alien to the traditional world of padded furniture.”

When it comes to the price, sofa and ottoman will cost you €4,930 ($6,850).
