World’s Most Expensive Cheese With Price Of Over €10.000

Blue cheese has the most controversial reputation of all others …
Some people especially enjoy his strange taste, while others, with the same passion, are sick of it. Either way, this cheese is still highly desirable, which was almost proven at an auction held in Spain when it sold the world’s most expensive blue cheese.
The type that got the most attention, and even the highest price, was a blue cheese from the Valfríu cheese factory — one of the strongest blue cheeses in the world. Named Cabrales, this cheese matured in the caves of Picos de Europa, where it stands for three to six months, with weekly rubbing and rotating.

It is especially demanded for its complicated production, which requires workers to walk more than a kilometer carrying it on their shoulders. The auction offered nearly three kilos of this cheese, and Ivan Suarez, owner of El Llagar de Colloto, won offering $16,223.
Commenting on the expensive cheese, a person from the factory said: “In all likelihood, the competition did not end and lasted almost two hours. The audience was lively and applauded. The peak was the moment when the price of €10,000 was exceeded, because at that time we realized we would take a new record.” Would you try the most expensive cheese in the world?
