Yuri Gagarin’s Car Goes Under The Hammer


The car model is ZIL-111V. In Soviet times, only 12 similar vehicles were manufactured. The first cosmonaut in the world, Yuri Gagarin use this vehicle to reach the Kremlin after flying into space.
The representatives of the auction house did not want to mislead the auction participants and therefore immediately announced that Yuri Gagarin used this ZIL only once, on April 14, 1961.


However, how they consider the car may have special value for fans of rarity models.
Under the hood of the convertible is the first in the history of the Soviet production V8 engine rated at 200 horsepower. The initial cost of the lot – 184 737 830 rubles (app. 2,946,000 dollars). The event is scheduled for February 15th.
