Two Dinosaurs Locked in Mortal Combat Could Fetch $9 Million at Bonhams

On November 19th, Bonhams will offer two fossilized dinosaur skeletons found on a Montana ranch in 2006. The two virtually complete dinosaur skeletons, dubbed the “Duelling Dinos” could bring $7 million to $9 million. This would make it one of the most valuable dinosaur fossils ever sold at auction. A pair of dinosaurs locked in mortal combat, could be new species known as Nanosaurus lancensis, the diminutive relative of the familiar Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Chasmosaurine Ceratopsian, closely related to the Triceratops. Both would have stood about eight feet high and measured between 25 and 35 feet long. They are being sold by the owners of the ranch, in the fossil-rich Hell Creek formation.
