Golden Godzilla Statuette on Sale for $1,5 Million

Golden Godzilla Statuette worth $1,5 million! Who else could create such a monster statue than Ginza Tanaka. Japanese jeweller has crafted a tribute to Godzilla out of solid 24-karat gold to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the classic Hollywood film. The statue stands 24-centemeters (10-inches) tall and weighs 15-kilograms (33-pounds). The figurine was modeled after the 1989 version of the beast which appears in “Godzilla vs. Biollante,” but Tanaka gave it an extra muscles and polished nails, fangs and fins.

According to the company, the statue is licensed by Toho, the owner of Godzilla’s rights, and was created jointly with Koichi Kawakita, who served as the special effects director for some of the Godzilla movies.
