The new Hublot Classic Fusion “Forbidden X” is the 2nd collaboration with Arturo Fuente. It was launched during an evening in Dubai which brought together the greatest connoisseurs of cigars and largest watch collectors, Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot and Carlos Fuente Jr., grand-son of the founder of the cigar factory , who unveiled this new timepiece. The dial of this unique watch was made with real tobacco leaves, the same as those used in the manufacture of the prestigious cigar ForbiddenX.
These sheets were sent from the Fuente Estate in Santo Domingo to the Hublot Manufacture in Switzerland, so engineers could insert them in the face with a technical process where epoxy resin, which stiffened and stabilized them.
Each model comes in a box that looks like treasure chest, and once opened, it reveals a cellar wooden cigar “hygrometer” specially developed by Hublot to regulate moisture for proper storage of cigars. With a diameter of 45 mm, this watch “Arturo Fuente ForbiddenX” is made in shades of brown in harmony with the color of the dial tobacco leaves.
With a brown ceramic bezel, it is presented in four different versions: a titanium version, a version in black ceramic, a version in King Gold, the famous red gold developed by Hublot, which contains 5% platinum, and a version more luxuriously equipped with a tourbillon movement.
This latter complication version is available in an exclusive series of only 30 numbered pieces. His cigar leaf that makes up the dial reveals the tourbillon manufacture movement of HUB6011 with 155 components and 5-day power reserve. Entirely developed and produced in-house by engineers and watchmakers Hublot, the set is completed by a calf strap tonal color tobacco, with the symbol “ForbiddenX.”
