One Indian Businessman based in Dubai paid 33 million dirhams ($9 million) at an auction to buy a licence plate marked “Dubai 5” for his own Rolls Royce on October 8. Balwinder Sahni points out that “likes to collect a single plates and is proud to have won the auction.” Sahni said that he would pay even the auction has reached “50 or even 100 million dirhams.” Sahni, the owner of the international real estate companies, revealed that last year bought ‘O9’ for 25 million dirhams ($6 million).

He explained that it was his “passion” and that the “Dubai 5” licence plates will adorn his Rolls Royce.
More than 300 people attended the auction on Saturday at a large hotel in Dubai, where it sold 80 unique license plates. The money earned at the sale will go to Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority.
