Ferrari exhibited the car at the Turin car show in 1958 and then at the 1959 New York car show, where he was spotted by Mohammed bin Faisal Al Saud, prince of Saudi Arabia, who was then living in the US while attending Menlo College in California.
The car later came into the hands of collector John Clinard, who restored it and owned it over four decades.
