For the fifty-five years of production of the 911 model, the light of the day has seen seven generations of this car, and now it came time for the version 992, that is, the eighth generation. The goal of the novelty is to continue the footsteps of its famous predecessors and to confirm the epitome of the world’s best sports car. The tradition suggests that visual differences between the previous and the new Porsche 911 are small, and so it is with the 992 model that is minimal in its predecessor, or, those who are not fans of the Porsche and 911 will find it difficult to notice the difference. Changing the front end include new lights and new horizontal LED daytime lights, then redesigned air holes, and there’s also a redesigned boot lid, wider fenders and similar less finishing. More visible are the rear-view where the new 911 comes with new rear lights that are interconnected by a luminous tape, and there’s a new bumper as well as exhausts. The latter two elements will naturally differ from version to version of this car. The rest of the car is more or less the same, that is, there are still the same muscular lines, and the novelty is an extended front seat and a wider track of wheels that will positively affect the stability and handling of the car. Novelty makes the handsets coming out of the body after pressure, otherwise they are pulled into the bodywork. Let’s say that the base version of Carrera comes with 19-inch forward wheels and those 20 inches in the rear. The Carrera S is standard fitted with wheels of 20 and 21 inches. Much bigger news is noticeable in the interior. For example, in the new 911, Porsche built a new dashboard, switches, a larger 10.9-inch central infotainment screen. Then, the extended wheelbase and the aforementioned 45 mm wide track marks forward positively reflected on the supply of space inside the passenger compartment. Even more of the news is beneath the skin, and this is the main reason why in Porsche believe that the 992 will continue the story of a legendary automotive legend. More specifically, this car will be powered by new and improved bi-turbo 3.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engines that were first introduced in the 991 generation offer, but are now thoroughly refined. One of the results of these improvements is a higher power, so in the Carrera version it will develop a power of 390 hp, and in the Carrera S power of 450 hp instead of the current 420 hp. Let’s say it will accelerate in the rear-wheel drive version up to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, while in the 4S version with a four-wheel drive, the same acceleration will be achieved in 3.6 seconds. Both results were better than the previous model for 0.4 seconds. A further 0.2 seconds can be taken off with an optional Sport Chrono package. The highest speed of the 911 Carrera S is 308 km/h and 306 respectively for the Carrera 4S version. Factory fuel consumption data show an average of 8.9 l/100 km for Carrer S, or 9.0 l/100 km for Carrer 4S. Finally, we add that the new 911 Carrera S in Germany will cost 120,125 euros and 911 Carrera 4S 127,979 euros. The first deliveries are expected in the first half of next year.
