In the heart of Swedish Lapland, you’ll find Arctic Bath, a unique hotel and spa experience that welcomes guests to immerse themselves in the elements while leaving a minimal environmental footprint behind. Situated under the northern lights in winter, and the midnight sun during the summer months, this luxury floating hotel is ow accepting reservations after more than a 16-month wait.
The idea of a floating sauna on Lule River first came about in 2010. Today, Arctic Bath is a modern reminder of our northern heritage – bringing an old timber tradition into the world of in luxury wellness.

“The Arctic Bath really is a first – it’s a special spa experience,” AnnKathrin Lundqvist, one of the designers of the hotel, said in a statement. “So much thought, engineering and ingenuity have come together to provide visitors with an experience they can’t find anywhere else.”
There are only six cabins on the water which — depending on the time of year — either float on the Lule River or are frozen into it. (There are an additional six cabins available on land, as well.) All rooms include Wi-Fi access, and air conditioning and heating are built into each unit.

When talking about wellness treatments, their focus on both the inside and outside. The package, starting at about $3,250 per person (based on double occupancy), includes accommodations, daily breakfast, nightly five-course dinners, spa access, and a guided Northern Lights hunt. Flights are not included. Bookings are available from February 2020 through February 2021.
