Costa Cruises launched new trend in travel and it’s called Slow Cruising. This new style of cruising is just what it sounds like. Cruise lines are slowing down with longer, leisurely itineraries and extended time in port. Costa Cruises decided it would devote two of its most intimate ships: neoRiviera and neoRomantica to this concept. Because the two neoCollection ships carry about 1,250-1,500 passengers, the Costa neoRiviera (624 cabins) and the Costa neoRomantica (789 cabins) are able to visit smaller ports that the megaships cannot.
Costa Cruises will launch slow cruising, a new concept for the line, in February on Costa neoRiviera and Costa neoRomantica.
Prior to a Slow Cruise, guests consult with the cruise line to personalize the vacation with shore excursions that match their particular interests. Once onboard, a dedicated concierge helps complete those arrangements as well as make shipboard reservations for events like Costa’s candlelight gourmet “Dinner Under the Stars.”
This winter, the Italian company will add a new ship to its NeoClassica fleet, which will sail the Indian Ocean to Réunion, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar (from €2,168/around $2,700 per person).
