An Extravagant Upper East Side Mansion Listed for Whopping $114 Million

An extravagant mansion on New York’s Upper East Side has just been listed for $114 million. Vincent Viola, CEO of Virtu Financial, who recently purchased the Florida Panthers organization for $250 million, is selling his spectacular completely renovated, very rare 40 foot wide mansion on East 69th. Mr. Viola and his invitation designer wife, Teresa, bought the house for $20 million in 2005, and now hopes to get nearly sixfold higher amount for it.

The six-level property has 20,000 square feet of living space, and additional 2,500 square feet of outdoor space, which includes a roof deck with sweeping views of Central Park and the city. Built in 1884, this 19-room masterpiece offering 7 bedrooms, 6 full baths and 3 powder rooms includes a wide range of opulent amenities which justify the price.

That’s Central Park views, soaring 12-32 foot ceilings, palatial entertaining space, the finest European-imported materials and state-of-the-art systems, floors made from old railroad ties, gold-leafed walls, the 900-square-foot dining room in Versailles style, a Venetian-onyx elevator, a panic room and a heated indoor pool. It’s really hard to believe that such a lavish house exists.
