Last 50 years Fendi’s creation adorned rich and famous in Japan. The Italian fashion house celebrates the golden jubilee milestone in the land of rising sun with the new pop-up store in Ginza, Tokyo. A huge and playful pop-up store on three floors is the first Fendi boutique in Japan to showcase men’s and women’s Collections from furs to accessories.

To pay homage to Japanese culture and celebrate the store’s opening, Fendi’s Bag Bugs and Qutweet Kigurumi will also pop up inside the new location.
Fendi Ginza is based on the contemporary interpretation of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (Palace of Italian civilisation), a historic rationalist-style building located in Rome’s modern EUR district, the new headquarters of the roman brand, and Fendi heritage. The Tokyo store’s facade features a blue neon rendering of the Rome building’s famous arches.

The amusement park sophisticated appearance gives to the pop-up store a playful atmosphere curated in every detail. A giant version of the Karlito doll, conceived by Fendi’s Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld, has pride of place next to the famous Italian three-wheel ‘Ape’ scooters. A mini-theatre plunges visitors in the world of cinema, seen through the brand’s own perspective, while a huge tape player sits amidst stacked speakers in the menswear area.

The store also also features a botanical art piece Fur Tree created by Japanese artist Makoto Azuma, to celebrate brand’s ties with Japan. His tree stood tall and green during the store opening characterized by pink fur flowers bloom that witness the transition of time. The experimental approaches to the work based on repeated trial and error where creativity meets the most elevated Savoir-Faire, represents the main link between Azuma and Fendi’s values.
