Ferraris, American Classics and Many Rarities Showcased at Arizona

RM Auctions’ eagerly anticipated Arizona auction is right around the corner. Wonderful weather, rare motor cars and yet another fabulous two-day event! This year’s selection of cars is particularly comprehensive, featuring everything from early horseless carriages to modern supercars, with marques from around the globe.

Italy’s prancing horse is represented by a superb 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta, with Targa Florio history no less, as well as a rare 1952 Ferrari 342 America Coupe that is one of only three bodied by Pinin Farina and the Geneva Show Car and also has period racing history and matching numbers. On the more modern side, Ferrari’s inimitable F40 is especially well represented by a low-mileage example (less than 300 miles) formerly owned by auto industry giant Lee Iacocca, the first of only three owners. Also from Italy is a fabulous 1927 Isotta-Fraschini 8A Boattail Tourer, a concours award-winner with spectacular coachwork by Cesare Sala.

English cars will also make quite an entrance, particularly with a 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Barker Landaulette, a beautifully restored and documented example with original body, chassis and engine. Not to be outdone, the American classics include the 1938 Cadillac V-16 Presidential Parade Limousine, used by Presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower, as well as a lovely 1931 Chrysler CG Imperial Convertible Victoria with single ownership for 70 years and striking Waterhouse coachwork. There is something for every genre, price point and automotive interest. [RM Auctions]
