Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing - Desert Gold

So the first special edition of the Mercedes SLS AMG goes to Dubai, UAE where the market for such cars is huge! Mercedes-Benz decided to show off a special SLS AMG Gullwing with the designation “Desert Gold” with a matt gold color at the bi-annual Dubai Motor Show that runs from December 15 to 20.

The Desert Gold features an attention-grabbing exterior with a matt gold paint scheme, gloss black accents, and black AMG wheels which measure 9.5 x 19 at the front and 11.0 x 20 at the rear. Inside, the car boasts sports seats, a solid carbon-fiber center console, and various other carbon fiber accents.

The exotic Italian automaker Maserati has just unveiled a new special edition GranTurismo S MC Sport Line intended for the Middle East market just outside the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Only 12 of these limited-edition GranTurismos will be produced in Modena, all for Middle Eastern markets. The cars are being built in part to celebrate the 12 world titles Maserati has won in various racing events over the past five years, as well as the number of Middle Eastern cities where Maserati is present with a dedicated showroom: each car will feature a plaque with the name of the city to which it is committed.

Designed to enhance the sporty DNA of the Trident, the “MC Sport Line” sums up the experience acquired on the track by the Maserati Corse racing department, whose contribution to the design of the functional components has been invaluable. The world of motor racing also inspired Maserati’s designers when it came to styling, hence the extensive use of carbon fiber.

Mercedes has released official pricing information for the highly anticipated SLS AMG Gullwing. The Gullwing is one of the highly anticipated cars which come with amazing features and specs.

Available for pre-order on AMG website or local Mercedes dealer, the SLS AMG starts at $266,000 (€149,000). Options include a ceramic composite high-performance braking system (€9500), an AMG performance suspension (€1200), light-alloy wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design (€950), and forged wheels in a 10-spoke design (€2000). Other goodies include a carbon-fiber engine cover (€4000) and “alubeam silver” (€10,000) and “monza grey magno” (€3,250) paint schemes.

After its world debut just a few weeks ago at the Tokyo Auto Show, Lexus gave an audience of media and aftermarket tuners the first look on U.S. soil of the its new LFA supercar.

Priced at $375,000, the matte black finish super car is the most costliest car produced by Lexus. As rumored, the car does use a carbon fiber cabin structure (often referred to as a monocoque), which is why the vehicle weighs so little. Until now production vehicles with such a setup were limited to even more expensive vehicles, like the upcoming Aston Martin One-77, which is rumored to cost close to $1.7 million.
