Luxury London department store Harrods has created a special pop-up store to celebrate an exclusive capsule collection by Valentino. Inspired by an iconic print from a 1973 Valentino show, the ready-to-wear collection showcase a colourful line-up of gowns, cocktail dresses, handbags, shoes and one-of-a-kind Christmas ornaments online and in a dedicated pop-up shop in-store on the Ground Floor. Designed by the house’s supremely talented Creative Directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, this collection boasts three ankle-skimming tulle gowns and one cocktail dress in either an eye-catching multi-coloured pattern of bold chevrons or stripes and embellished with sequins, or, for a more classic look, solid shades with on-tone sequins.
Studded handbags and matching shoes are nestled in a backdrop of gleaming marble, brass and oak wood designed by the duo along with renowned architect David Chipperfield.
Multi-coloured Christmas ornaments made from blown glass are also available for purchase and one of the windows, entitled Peace, is dedicated to the holiday season, and features a modern interpretation of the 1991 white Haute Couture gown of the same name.
The World of Valentino is available online and in-store until January 2015.
