Opera One Sapphire Dial watch, equipped with tourbillon and minute repeater complications, catches the eye by its semi-transparent tinted sapphire dial, which reveals its mechanical heart – the brand’s proprietary GP9899 hand-wound movement.

Originally created to enable the watch wearer to determine the time in low light conditions, the chiming of the hours and minutes still represents a feat of technical virtuosity in the watchmaking industry. The Opera One watch incorporates a Westminster chime, which, for marking the hours, utilizes four hammers to play a melody of four different notes.
Another zest of the new Girard-Perregaux watch is a tourbillion. Engineered to eliminate the gravity effects on the timepiece’s regulating organ, this complication reflects the best tradition cherished by the brand since the 19th century.
The tinted sapphire dial of the Girard-Perregaux watch proudly exposes a sunburst finish. Its rays are stretching from the tourbillon, which is revealed at 6 o’clock. The hammers, striking the hours, are visible at 9 o’clock. The see-through case-back enables the watch owner to admire other exciting aspects of the watch’s extremely complex movement, which operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and incorporates 37 jewels.
