Tired of whisky based drinks? Why not try some EXIMO. If you haven’t heard, Bacardi’s new Facundo Rum Collection is a luxury series of four hand-blended aged sipping rums, including EXIMO. Each of the four members of the Facundo Rum Collection offers its own distinct flavor and style and includes: Neo, Eximo, Exquisito and Paraiso. The dark blend of medium and heavy bodied dark rums are aged for 10 to 12 years in oak barrels.
EXIMO is the only one in the collection that is blended before aging – a process which relies on the Master Blender to tailor the flavor and aroma 10 years in advance. The result? A flavorful sipping rum that combines the sweet flavors of vanilla, toffee, honey and caramel with the smoothness of velvety chocolate and with the hints of walnuts.
Bottle: polished gold, gunmetal grey and an accent of off-white. EXIMO is recommended to be sipped on the rocks (but it does just fine in any cocktail). Price $60.
NEO is the only white rum in the Facundo Collection, and is a blend of medium-to heavy-bodied rums aged up to eight years before being filtered over activated carbon. It is presented in the tallest bottle with polished silver, charcoal grey and a hint of off-white. Price $45.
EXQUISITO is described as a bold, dark yet delicately balanced rum blend with a light cherrywood hue, marrying younger rums aged seven years with matured rums aged 23 years aged in oak barrels and finished in sherry cask. Bottle: polished copper with a cream accent. Price $120.
PARAISO is an expertly assembled blend of dark rums aged up to 23 years that is filtered over activated carbon and then rested in French (XO) casks for a minimum of one month, with a deep amber colour. Bottle: highlights the Bacardi red with polished gold accents. Price $250.
