The Oris Divers Sixty-Five was one of the favorite watches of last year. Now, they bring to us a limited-edition version in bronze.The watch commemorates the U.S. Navy’s first African-American master diver, Carl Brashear.
Carl Brashear was the first African-American member of the Dive Rescue School, as the first African-American member of the US Navy, which in March 1966 lost a leg during the operation detonating bombs.

This limited edition watch is the first watch to be designed and made of bronze, a material that naturally “old” and gets a patina with age, just as the same material made former diving helmets 50s of the last century.
The watch has a 42 mm diameter polished case, and over time it will get a nice patina and turn dark, due to the fact that copper reacts to carbon – dioxide and moisture. Unidirectional rotating mask is also made of bronze with a minute scale specifically raised in order to monitor the dive time.

Oris Carl Brashear watch also has a beautiful dark blue dial beneath which hides an automatic mechanism, and on the back is embossed helmet Brashear once used.
The watch is water resistant to a depth of 100 meters, and the limited run of 2000 will be available for just under $2600 when they go on sale later this year.
