Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot teamed up with luxury shoemaker Berluti to create two exceptional timepieces that embody Hublot’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy.
Motivated by the same values, excellence, distinction and innovation, the designers from Hublot and Berluti came up with the Hublot Classic Fusion Tourbillon Berluti Scritto King Gold and the Hublot Classic Fusion Tourbillon Scritto All Black watches, both of them set to be produced in a very limited run of just 20 pieces.
“The art of fusion is a fundamental part of Hublot’s DNA. It’s a state of mind that guides all our actions and partnerships. With our partners, and especially with the Berluti house, we are part of the same dynamic, united by a common DNA: excellence, distinction and innovation,” decrypts Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the watch brand.
Beyond the synergy of customers, the originality of this union lies in the innovative use of footwear signature leather. “Leather is a classic watchmaker for bracelets. But we wanted to go beyond this classic approach and work on the most mythical leather,” added Guadalupe.
In addition to the complexity of using leather on a watch face, on which the indexes are embossed, the manufacture of the bracelets of these two limited editions supposes to follow the same procedures as those used for leather shoes Berluti: cut Shaping, modeling, lacquering … Both timepieces have a 45 mm diameter case. Their leather dial marked with the famous Scritto motif is signed Berluti, and an opening at 6 o’clock reveals the magic of a tourbillon entirely developed and produced in-house by the engineers and watchmakers of the Manufacture Hublot. Accompanied by a hand-made bracelet, these two timepieces are delivered in a Berluti Bespoke box containing a complete set of Berluti polish.
