After a phenomenal end to 2017, RM Sotheby’s 2018 European auction calendar will open again in Paris with an auction offering that features stunning sports, racing, and performance lots.
Star of RM Sotheby’s upcoming Paris sale is a recently restored alloy-bodied 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB. Benefitting from over forty years of single ownership in the United States, chassis no. 08069 has recently undergone a ground-up restoration, returning the matching-numbers car to its original factory colors of Argento Metallizatto over a Nero interior, whilst also boasting certification by Ferrari Classiche.
One of a mere 60 alloy-bodied 275 GTBs ever made, and widely considered one of the greatest Ferraris of the 1960s, this is one of the finest 275 examples to be offered for public sale (Est. €2.400.000 – €2.800.000).
Rare, one-of-five, 2-litre 1954 OSCA 2000 S and one-of-14 1995 Porsche 911 ‘993’ Turbo Cabriolet also confirmed. Lining up alongside the Ferrari is one of the rarest sports cars ever made, a 1954 OSCA 2000 S, chassis no. 2005. This example is one of five cars built and sports gorgeous Morelli coachwork. Winner of the 1954 12 hours of Messina and raced at a handful of other events in Italy, the OSCA benefits from a four-year restoration concluded in 2003 and is ready to be enjoyed and driven on road or track by a discerning new owner (Est. €875.000 – €975.000).
At the other end of the rare collector car spectrum is a 1995 Porsche 911 ‘993’ Turbo Cabriolet. One of just nine left-hand-drive examples made of a mere 14 that ever left the Porsche Exclusive factory, chassis no. 8509 has been carefully used and has covered just 32,000 km from new. A unique and appealing mix of narrow-bodied ‘993’ Carrera bodyshell and ‘964’ Turbo running gear, this drop-top Porsche was a special edition, paired with a desirable ‘G50’ manual gearbox and, unlike the production 911 Turbos of the era, is rear-wheel drive.
This example is the second-to-last car ever made and is fitted with a unique electric clutch produced by RUF and installed by Porsche Exclusive. It comes with a comprehensive history file, and a fresh service (Est. €625.000 – €725.000).
Held during the world-famous Rétromobile week (7-11 February, 2018), RM Sotheby’s has amassed more than 70 collector cars for its prestigious Paris sale on 7 February.
