Woodshed Art Auctions has announced it will be auctioning Andy Warhol’s watercolor Apple Macintosh logo. The painting is said to be part of Warhol’s “Ads” series from 1985 – just after Apple launched the Macintosh.
The painting measures eight inches squared inside a 16.5-inch squared frame, and it is signed by Warhol on the front and back.
The piece is said to be in “very good condition,” with an estimated worth of $20,000 to $30,000. Online bids are currently in progress with a $5,000 minimum.

Woodshed auctioneer Bruce Wood said that there is little provenance information available for the work, other than that it came from a collection in Massachusetts and that the owner said he acquired it from a collector in London.
A similar Mac-themed Warhol canvas painting recently sold for $910,000 through Sotheby’s, but the latest piece is both smaller and on less durable material.
